Here are Jack Green's NFL predictions for the fifth Sunday of the season, which make up an 11/2 four-fold.

Carolina Panthers to beat Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons are 0-4, have conceded at least 30 points in each of their first four games this season and are struggling with injuries on both sides of the ball, with star receiver Julio Jones’ hamstring issue particularly problematic.

They now face the Panthers, who have won back-to-back games against the Los Angeles Chargers and Arizona Cardinals.

Carolina were underdogs in both of those games but were very impressive defensively, holding both opponents to under 21 points, and they should cause major problems for an Atlanta defence that just can’t stop anyone.

Arizona Cardinals to beat New York Jets

The Cardinals were very disappointing in their defeat to Carolina last week, but playing the Jets is an ideal opportunity to bounce back.

New York are truly awful, having scored the second-fewest points per game this season while conceding the third-most.

The Jets couldn’t beat a Denver Broncos team led by first-time NFL starter Brett Rypien last week, so it’s hard to see how they will contain Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray, who has been excellent in his sophomore season so far.

Pittsburgh Steelers to beat Philadelphia Eagles

The Steelers are coming off a bye after their week 4 opponents, the Tennessee Titans, had a number of positive coronavirus tests. They should, then, be well-rested for this game against the Eagles, who got their first win of the season last week.

Philadelphia beat a San Francisco 49ers team led by backup quarterback Nick Mullens, but now face a Steelers offense that ranks 12th in points per game and scored at least 26 points in each of the first three weeks.

The Eagles are yet to score 26 in a game this season and will struggle to do so against a Pittsburgh defence that has conceded just 19.3 points per game, the fifth-lowest mark in the league.

Indianapolis Colts to beat Cleveland Browns

The Browns have been in great form offensively in the past three weeks, but they have played against three of the worst defences in the NFL.

They now face a Colts defence that has conceded just 14 points per game this season – the best record in the league – and must do so without starting running back Nick Chubb, who got injured last week.

Indianapolis have averaged 25.8 points per game this season, which is around the league average, but should put up plenty of points against a Cleveland defence that has allowed more points than all but four teams.
