Here are Jack Green's four NFL tips to consider for Monday night's season opener between the Pittsburgh Steelers v New York Giants.

Pittsburgh Steelers (-6) to win

The Steelers finished 8-8 last season and only just missed out on the playoffs, which is impressive considering starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was injured for the entire season.

They should start the new campaign with a comfortable win over the Giants, who are coming off a 4-12 season in which they lost six of their eight home games.

Over 45 points

With Roethlisberger back in the line-up and an array of offensive weapons around him, the Steelers should find it easy to score against a Giants defence that gave up the third-most points of any team last year.

New York showed some glimpses of promise on offense last year and have star running back Saquon Barkley and tight end Evan Engram fully healthy, so they should also contribute a decent amount of points to this total.

James Conner over 24.5 receiving yards

Conner’s 2019 season was disrupted by a Week 7 injury, but he averaged 38.5 receiving yards per game during the first six games of the campaign and should produce at a similar level here.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has said that Conner will have a heavy workload this season, and he faces a Giants defence that gave up the eighth-most receiving yards to running backs in 2019.

Juju Smith-Schuster to score a touchdown

Smith-Schuster scored seven touchdowns in each of his first two seasons in the NFL before injuries and poor quarterback play saw his tally drop to three in 2019.

Roethlisberger’s return should bring about a resurgence for the 23-year-old, and he will be even more likely to find the endzone on Monday night if fellow Pittsburgh receiver Diontae Johnson is limited by a foot injury.
