Here are Jack Green's NFL tips for Carolina @ Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Steelers -3.5
Eight of the nine Thursday night games this season have been won by the home team, and seven of those beat the spread.
That trend should continue this week given that the Steelers have won four games in a row after starting the season 1-2-1.
Pittsburgh have averaged 31.25 points over the past four weeks and, although the Panthers are on a three-game winning streak themselves, the Steelers should have enough to outscore them.
Over 51.5 total points
These teams are each averaging over 27 points per game this season, so the over looks the way to go here.
Pittsburgh have found their stride offensively over the past few weeks, while the Panthers have been fantastic on that side of the ball over the past fortnight, scoring 36 against the Baltimore Ravens and 42 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
JuJu Smith-Schuster over 76.5 receiving yards and a touchdown
The Panthers conceded four passing touchdowns against the Buccaneers last week – two each to slot receiver Adam Humphries and tight-end O.J. Howard.
Panthers cornerback Captain Munnerlyn has really struggled in the slot this season, and he faces a nightmare match-up against Smith-Schuster, who is averaging 84 yards per game.
Greg Olsen over 47.5 receiving yards and a touchdown
The Steelers have allowed the joint-most receptions to opposing tight ends this season, so it’s safe to expect a big night from Olsen on Thursday.
The 33-year-old has scored in three successive games, and he’s gained over 47 receiving yards in three of the last four weeks.
