New Orleans Saints -7.5

There’s no way I’m backing against the Saints after they’ve reeled off five successive double-digit wins.

Dallas have played well over the past three weeks, but Thursday-night favourites are 12-1-1 against the spread this year and 14-0 straight up, so it’s worth backing New Orleans to cover the handicap.

Over 52.5 points

The Cowboys really struggled offensively early in the season, but they’ve picked it up recently, averaging 26.7 points over the past three weeks.

New Orleans have scored 37.2 points per game this season, and the speed at which they score means going over the total is typically a safe bet.

Dak Prescott over 239.5 passing yards

Prescott threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns against the Washington Redskins last week, and should put up big numbers again on Thursday night.

Along with their prolific offense, the Saints’ excellent rushing defence forces their opponents to throw early and often. They gave up 340 passing yards against the Atlanta Falcons last week.

Alvin Kamara over 99.5 total yards and a TD

The Cowboys are the fourth-best team in the NFL at stopping the run, so it’s likely the Saints will rely less on power back Mark Ingram on Thursday night and more on the versatile Kamara coming out of the backfield.

The 23-year-old fell just short of 100 total yards against the Atlanta Falcons last week, but he passed the century mark in all of his previous three games, scoring six touchdowns along the way.
