Who wants to win those Wild Card spots and make the playoffs this year? Just when the Florida Panthers looked like they were surging, they’ve now lost four straight. Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Ottawa, Washington, and Detroit are all below .500 in their last 10 games in the East. Seattle, Winnipeg, Calgary, and Nashville are only winning half their games in the West. The one team that’s been pushing hard consistently are the New York Islanders. There’s only a handful of games left, so who wins those races?

Montreal Canadiens to beat Philadelphia Flyers 2.40

On the second-half of a back-to-back set, the Montreal Canadiens are up against another team at the bottom of the NHL’s standings in the Philadelphia Flyers. Because it’s a back-to-back, the payout for a Montreal win is quite good, despite the Habs winning both their games against the Flyers this season.

Philadelphia is on a bit of a heater, winning three straight games and they’re over .500 in their last 10, but at the same time, the Canadiens have actually played dominant hockey since Kirby Dach returned to the lineup, beating the Tampa Bay Lightning, outplaying the Boston Bruins, and wildly outplaying the Blue Jackets and Sabres. Look for a Habs sweep of Pennsylvania.

Nashville Predators to beat Boston Bruins 3.50

Eventually the Bruins have to lose again, right? Winners of seven straight, the Bruins have been winning games despite a drop off in their play overall, and while missing some of their key players against top level opponents.

The Predators have been floating around .500, which it seems almost all teams trying to make the playoffs are doing. Even after selling at the deadline, the Predators are playing decent hockey, and they still have Juuse Saros to steal games now and then. This has upset potential for a Bruins team that might take Nashville too casual.

Los Angeles Kings to beat Calgary Flames 2.10

To say I don’t trust the Calgary Flames would be to put it lightly. Outside a handful of players, this team has been a gigantic disappointment this season from beginning to end. Based on their roster and the ability of the coaching staff, they should easily be in the playoffs, and yet seem determined to not make it.

The Kings, on the other hand, are cresting a wildly successful rebuild and seemingly peaking at the right time, unbeaten in regulation over their last 10 games where they’re 8-0-2. The only major weakness that the Kings had this season was goaltending, and they’ve seemingly solved that by acquiring Joonas Korpisalo from Columbus, with his sterling .929 save percentage in five appearances in LA.

Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers) to score anytime 1.61 vs Vegas Golden Knights

In the last game between these two teams, just a few short nights ago, Connor McDavid was held to just two shots and one assist in an overtime loss. I’m sure McDavid, who is the first person to cross the 140-point mark in a season since 1995-96 when Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr both did it, is looking for revenge.

The Vegas Golden Knights are a strong defensive team, but McDavid has simply been undeniable all season long. Whenever he’s put to the test, he seems to find some new way to elevate and smoke his competition.
