Nathan MacKinnon to score 2+ points vs Toronto Maple Leafs
Over the last three games, Nathan MacKinnon has scored nine points. He had five in Thursday’s 7-1 win over Winnipeg and has simply been dominant. Over his career against Toronto, MacKinnon has 14 points in 15 games.
MacKinnon has played in just 20 games this season, but has 33 points. He’s been playing at an MVP level and with how he’s been scoring of late, both goals and assists, I like his chances of driving an Avalanche win against the Maple Leafs.
Auston Matthews and Alex Ovechkin both to score 1+ goals
Anytime I see a pre-built prop with the two of the best goal scorers in the game today, I’m going to point it out.
Ovechkin had two very quiet games back-to-back and now hasn’t scored a goal in over a week. You usually can’t keep him down for very long. He did score two goals in the second game coming out of the COVID pause, which was briefer for the Caps than most teams. In 17 career games against Minnesota, Ovechkin has 17 goals.
Matthews hasn’t scored a goal in either game since the Leafs got back from their COVID-19 pause. In the 10 games before the pause, Matthews had 13 goals. Scorers like him need to find a rhythm and he was in it before the season was disrupted. It shouldn’t take him long to get it back. He has seven goals in nine career games against the Avalanche.
Jack Hughes to score 2+ points vs Columbus Blue Jackets
Jack Hughes has been among the hottest players in the NHL in the last week. The 2019 No. 1 overall pick has been a machine, quite frankly.
After a 10-day pause for the Devils, Hughes has had 12 points over his last five games. He has scored fewer than two points in just one of those five games. He’s only played Columbus four times in his young career and has three points, but the way he’s playing right now makes me think no one is going to slow him down for a bit.
Hughes is in the midst of the best stretch of his early career and I’d ride the hot hand based on the value being offered for a multi-point game for the 20-year-old phenom.
Troy Terry anytime goal scorer vs New York Rangers
It had been a while since Troy Terry scored a goal, then he scored three against Philadelphia. Now at 21 goals this season, he remains among the league leaders and the Ducks are going to be even more desperate for his offense with a number of players in COVID protocols.
The way Terry has been playing this year, his goals have come in bunches. There have been very few instances this season where, after a stretch of not scoring, he didn’t come back with goals in back-to-back games. Six prior instances of him going through scoring lulls this year, he came back with goals in consecutive games.
With him coming off that hat-trick, I like him to put another one in tonight.
