Johnny Gaudreau to score anytime vs Ottawa 2.40
The Flames winger has been on fire this year, leading the team’s offensive attack. “Johnny Hockey” has goals in four of his last five games since coming back from the extended pause. He’s also shooting a lot more in general with 17 shots on goal over those five contests. The 0.45 goals per game he is scoring at is the highest pace of his career.
Historically, Ottawa has not been a team Gaudreau has scored a ton of goals again, but as he’s continuing to put up some of the best numbers of his career without being so far ahead of his career shooting percentage, I think his hot streak is far more than a fluke.
Nikita Kucherov to score anytime and Tampa Bay Lightning to win vs Vancouver 2.65
After shaking off the rust, Kucherov had a hat trick against Buffalo on Tuesday. He hadn’t scored any goals since returning from injury prior to that and now that he has, it feels like the floodgates could open.
Goals won’t be as easy to come by against Vancouver, but Kucherov is such a dangerous player I like his chances of being a contributor to a win. I also just like the Lightning on the money line against the Canucks coming off of a tough road loss and dealing with some roster limitations.
Adding Kucherov to that money line just helps juice the value a little bit and if you’ve been following my picks this year, you know how much I enjoy sweeteners.
Kyle Connor to score 2+ points vs Detroit 2.62
When Kyle Connor gets to play against his hometown team, he usually does well. In seven prior games against the Red Wings, the Shelby Township, Michigan native has seven points.
Meanwhile, Connor is on pace for a career year in both goals per game and points per game. With the Jets playing a road-weary Red Wings side, I’m looking for Connor to have himself a night.
Artemi Panarin to score 1+ points vs San Jose 1.44
After missing some time in COVID-19 protocols, Panarin is back and coming off of one of his lesser performances of the season. He went without a point, had just one shot and was a minus-three against the Los Angeles Kings.
I can’t foresee a continuation of that against San Jose, which has had some defensive issues over the course of the season. While the Sharks are in the midst of a three-game winning streak, the Rangers will be the best team they’ve played in this recent stretch, on paper at least.
Meanwhile, Panarin has traditionally done very well against the Sharks with 14 points in 12 career games against San Jose. He also has only gone two consecutive games without a point one time previously this season. He’s an MVP-caliber player who is consistent. I don’t see him being held off the score sheet two games in a row in this particular instance.
