Alex Ovechkin and Leon Draisaitl to score 1+ goals

Ovechkin is coming off of a two-goal game and Draisaitl hasn’t scored in his last three games, but the two of them have been among the league’s goal leaders all season long. In fact, Ovechkin now has 31 goals, while Draisaitl has a league-best 33.

Ovechkin and the Caps will be playing Philadelphia, which has been atrocious defensively. The Great 8 has historically torched Philly, too, with 42 goals in 64 career games.

Meanwhile, Draisaitl has 14 career goals against Anaheim and has been a little quieter on the goal front than normal. That usually doesn’t happen for long.

Artemi Panarin to score 2+ points vs Detroit

In 13 career games against the Detroit Red Wings, Panarin has 20 points, an average of just over a point-and-a-half per game. He has not played against Detroit this season, but the Rangers superstar has 52 points in 43 games and has been rolling once again this season.

He also should be fresh after not playing for a few weeks. He came back against the Bruins, but did not hit the score sheet. He has gone consecutive games without a point only twice in 2021-22, and since the Red Wings are a team he has traditionally had a lot of success against, I liked to boost the value a little by adding that second point.

Connor McDavid to score 2+ points vs Anaheim

Among non-Canadian teams, Anaheim is one of the teams McDavid has had a lot of success against in his career. He has 27 points in 18 games over his career against the Ducks, including a three-point game against them earlier this season.

McDavid has six points over his last four games which includes two-point performances against the New York Islanders and Los Angeles Kings. The game’s best player has been buzzing.

Sidney Crosby to score 1+ point vs Toronto

Among teams outside of Crosby's divisional opponents, Toronto is one of the two he seems to play best against. He has 63 points in 46 career games against the Leafs.

Having grown up a Montreal Canadiens fan, perhaps it’s not a coincidence that Crosby’s best out-of-division games seem to come against the Boston Bruins and the Maple Leafs.

Crosby is fresh off scoring his 500th career goal, which gets that over with. Even though I don’t think it negatively impacted Crosby’s play, it’s one less thing looming in the background. He’s still one of the game’s best players and I expect he’ll be a factor in this particular game.
