Jason Robertson anytime goal scorer vs Montreal Canadiens
One of the hottest goal scorers in hockey right now, Jason Robertson has nine goals in his last eight games. He had back-to-back hat tricks in early March and scored against the Rangers last week to secure the first 30-goal season of his career.
Robertson only has one career game against the Montreal Canadiens and did not score in that one, but I like his chances better in this one. The Habs just traded away one of their best defenders in Ben Chiarot. There could be more moves before the game, too. Additionally, Robertson has taken no fewer than three shots on goal in each game in the month of March. He’ll get his chances.
Connor McDavid to score 2+ points vs Buffalo Sabres
McDavid has put up two points in each of his las three games and not surprisingly, Edmonton has won all three of those contests. He’s been a difference maker with goals in each of those games as well. Surprisingly enough, though, McDavid is not over a point per game in his career against the Sabres. In fact, he has nine points in 10 games. It’s an outlier stat line.
Despite those career figures, I’m looking at the way he’s playing right now. On top of that, he’s on home ice, where he has averaged 1.4 points per game this season. The Sabres have looked good in the last week, but I think McDavid has looked better. I’m going to go against the historical figures a bit, but now you have the info if you want to fade me.
J.T. Miller to score 2+ points vs Detroit Red Wings
J.T. Miller is currently riding a 13-game point streak for the Canucks. Over that streak, he has multiple points in nine games. He is coming off a three-assist performance Tuesday against New Jersey. If there was any concern that the trade rumors have swirled around him all year, he hasn’t shown it.
A big reason I like Miller for at least two points in this game is that Detroit has been bleeding goals. The Red Wings are averaging 5.6 goals against amid a six-game losing streak. Players like Miller should be able to feast on a team playing that poorly.
Additionally, the two previous times Miller registered three or more points in a game during his current streak, he followed each of those up with two-point games. There may be no hotter offensive player in the league right now, so I’m riding the hot hand.
Andrei Svechnikov over 3.5 shots vs Toronto Maple Leafs
In seven career games against the Maple Leafs, Svechnikov has five points, but he’s also poured 29 shots on goal in that time. That’s an average of 4.1 per game. Svechnikov is a shooter by nature and the Maple Leafs are a team that can allow quite a few shots.
In two previous games this season, Svechnikov has not had more than three shots on goal, however he’s had four shots on goal in three of his last five games and has been at four shots or more in a game in 21 contests this season.
Expecting a player to hit the net that much is asking a lot, but that’s why there’s pretty good value on the bet. This is one that stuck out to me a bit when looking at shot props.
