Artemi Panarin to score 2+ points

He didn’t contribute in Game 1, but in 31 career Stanley Cup playoff games, Artemi Panarin has 28 points. He also played well in Game 1 despite being held off the score sheet. He only accounted for two shots on goal, but he made a ton of plays. His ability to find teammates and to make plays on the rush make him a particularly dangerous threat.

Panarin also historically has done very well against the Pens. In 23 career regular-season games against them, he has 30 points. The Rangers need their best offensive player to come through for them and I expect Panarin to make his presence felt in Game 2.

Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog to both score 1+ goals

I think the Avalanche are going to score a ton in Game 2 after winning Game 1 by a 7-2 score. MacKinnon had two goals in that game and Landeskog also had one. I’m looking at the player specials for increased value, and this Betway Boost jumped out to me.

The Avs have done a good job of spreading out their offense. The Preds can try and slow down MacKinnon, but that’s often a futile endeavor. Meanwhile, they still have to worry about Colorado’s second line with Landeskog and Nazem Kadri. The focus on MacKinnon should free up Landeskog to get some more favorable matchups and open up offense.

On top of that, the Avs have home ice advantage and can better control the matchups to benefit them. I can see two of the team’s core players really pushing things to leave no doubt in Game 2.

Matthew Tkachuk anytime goal scorer

The rough and tumble style where goals are hard to come by in the Calgary-Dallas series favors players that are willing to go to the net for their offense. Matthew Tkachuk loves to get into the hard areas of the ice and create some offense.

He had 42 goals this season, many from in tight to the net. In a tough game, guys like Tkachuk tend to be right in the middle of everything. Calgary’s top line is going to play a ton of minutes, too, so the opportunity for Tkachuk to have a chance to contribute in a major way is there, too.

Look for him to have a significant impact in Game 2 after contributing an assist in Game 1.

Aleksander Barkov over 2.5 shots on goal

With his team in a 1-0 hole in their series against the Washington Capitals, Barkov is going to do everything in his power to will his team back to even before the series shifts to Washington for Game 3. He could be one of Florida’s most active offensive players in this game.

Barkov had three or more shots on goal in 41 of the 67 games he appeared in this season, and had three shots on goal in Game 1. The Capitals will do what they can to hold him in check, but I don’t anticipate that being a particularly easy task for them with a highly-motivated and desperate Panthers club looking to even the series.
