Here are five bets Guy Giles thinks you should consider for Scotland v France, which kicks off at 15:00 on Sunday.

France (-5.5)

France have lost just three times to Scotland in the Six Nations since the competition began in 2000.

Having already overcome England, Wales and Italy in this year’s competition, they should comfortably avoid defeat on Sunday.

Team to score first try: France

France have scored the opening try on their last three visits to Edinburgh, all of which came within five minutes.

They have done the same in all three matches so far in this year’s Six Nations, with all of those scores coming inside the first 10.

First tryscorer: Damian Penaud

Penaud makes his first international appearance since the World Cup as he replaces Teddy Thomas on the right wing for France.

He has two tries in three appearances against Scotland, including the opener after just two minutes in a World Cup warm-up at Murrayfield in August 2019.

Anytime tryscorer: Stuart Hogg

Scotland captain Hogg got off the mark in this year’s Six Nations with a brilliant solo try against Italy two weeks ago.

He has a good record against France, scoring four tries in nine meetings.

No card

There have been no cards shown in eight of the last 10 meetings between these sides in all competitions.
