Here are Tom Clee's tips to get you started...

WALES v SCOTLAND (Saturday, 14:15)

Scotland to win by 1-12 points –

Scotland beat Wales for the first time in a decade when these sides met last year, before thrashing Australia and pushing New Zealand all the way during an encouraging autumn.

Wales missing six British and Irish Lions will also prove crucial, though it’s unlikely to be a walkover.

Huw Jones to score a try –

Jones has scored five tries in his last five Tests, including one against both the Wallabies and the All Blacks.

With no Jonathan Davies in his channel, that hot streak is set to continue in Cardiff.

No card in the game –

Scotland didn’t have a single player sin-binned during the Autumn Internationals, while Wales’ only yellow card came in stoppage time against Georgia.

With only three cards between them in last year’s Six Nations, the referee should have an easy afternoon.

FRANCE v IRELAND (Saturday, 16:45)

Ireland to win by 1-10 points –

Ireland have won four of their last five games against France, so clearly have the wood over them.

It’s guaranteed to be close, though, with seven of their last 10 meetings decided by 10 points or fewer with two draws to boot.

Under 33.5 total points –

Five of the last six matches between these two teams have fallen beneath this total.

Given the one exception came when both sides were chasing the title in the final game of the 2014 tournament, that pattern is unlikely to change in Saturday’s opener.

Under 1.5 France tries –

France have scored four tries in five games against Joe Schmidt’s Ireland, and only one in their last three.

Don’t expect them to run riot in Paris, even with new coach Jacques Brunel at the helm.

ITALY v ENGLAND (Sunday, 15:00)

England to win by over 30.5 points –

England have beaten Italy by 30 points or more in three of their last four meetings.

Eddie Jones was furious with their sluggish start to the Autumn Internationals, so expect them to come out of the blocks quickly on Sunday.

Italy to score under 15.5 points –

The Azzurri have passed this benchmark four times in 18 Six Nations matches against England, and only once in the last nine.

They averaged just 10 points per game in last year’s tournament and have shown no signs of improvement since.

Danny Care to score a try –

Care’s try against Italy at Twickenham last year started a run of five scores in his last eight Tests that reportedly meant he was close to starting this game.

As England’s finisher-in-chief, he’ll be sure to strengthen his case by finding the holes that will be created by the Italians’ tiring legs.
