Saturday night’s main event sees Holloway return to featherweight, the division he has dominated for the past few years.

The 27-year-old won 13 fights in a row between January 2014 and December 2018, claiming the featherweight title in the process, before he stepped up to lightweight and lost an interim title fight against Dustin Poirier in April.

Poirier was simply too big and strong for Holloway, who should get back to his best at his natural fighting weight this weekend.

In Edgar, he faces a vastly experienced veteran who held the lightweight title back in 2010.

The 37-year-old has an 8-3 record since he dropped down to featherweight in 2013, but all those defeats came against fighters who Holloway has since beaten.

Edgar won his last fight against Cub Swanson to earn this title shot, but the veteran has been given this opportunity simply because there aren’t many contenders left in this division that Holloway hasn’t already defeated.

The Hawaiian is the best striker in the division and is an expert at using his height and reach to neutralise smaller opponents, which makes this an extremely tough match-up for the 5ft 6in Edgar.

The challenger is a great wrestler, but he doesn’t have the means to get inside Holloway’s reach and take this fight to the ground.

This should be a one-sided victory for the champion, who will use a constant barrage of strikes to secure the stoppage.

Cyborg returns to the Octagon on Saturday night for the first time since she was knocked out cold by Amanda Nunes last December.

That defeat ended a 21-fight unbeaten run in which the 34-year-old looked invincible as she tore through almost every opponent that was put in front of her.

Losing to Nunes is nothing to be ashamed of – she’s arguably the greatest female fighter ever – but the way Cyborg was completely outclassed and knocked out within a round means there is some cause for concern.

Fortunately for the former champion, her opponent on Saturday night shouldn’t pose too much of a threat.

Spencer is a solid up-and-coming fighter and is yet to lose in her career, but she’s only had seven fights to date, one of which was in the UFC.

Her victory over Megan Anderson in her debut with the promotion in May was her fourth submission win in her last five fights, and she has the skills to cause problems if this fight goes to the ground.

Cyborg is so big and powerful, though, that it’s hard to see how the 28-year-old Canadian can avoid being caught out in the exchanges on the feet.

The Brazilian will surely win inside the distance, and there’s a good chance she’ll earn do it in the first round, as she did against Yana Kunitskaya in her last victory back in March 2018.
