ROSE NAMAJUNAS v JESSICA ANDRADE

Strawweight champion Namajunas faces a real test in what will be both her first fight in 13 months and first ever outside of the United States.

Andrade has earned this title shot in her home country of Brazil with three successive wins, the most recent of which was a thumping first-round knockout of Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

That victory will be the blueprint for the Brazilian in this bout.

Like Namajunas, Kowalkiewicz is a technical fighter who attempted to box Andrade from the outside, but she couldn’t deal with the 27-year-old’s raw power and was knocked out cold with a right hand.

Andrade has challenged for the title before, losing to Joanna Jedrzejczyk on points in May 2017. She caused the Pole problems in that defeat, catching her with several big shots.

She failed to take Jedrzejczyk out, though, unlike the fighter she faces on Saturday night.

Namajunas is coming off back-to-back wins over Jedrzejczyk, the first of which was a first-round TKO in November 2017.

The Lithuanian-American showed a combination of skill and power that very few fighters in this division possess, and she has the tools to push back the relentless Andrade.

The Brazilian’s all-power style means she’s unlikely to maintain her pace beyond the first two rounds, so Namajunas should hold the advantage if she can take the fight deep.

Providing she isn’t too rusty from her year away, she should successfully defend the title on Saturday.

JARED CANNONIER v ANDERSON SILVA

Silva is coming off a decision defeat to Israel Adesanya and has now lost five and won one of his last seven fights (with one no contest).

The 44-year-old showed enough in that last bout, however – against an opponent most expected to knock him out easily – that he still has something left in the tank.

While the speed and reflexes that made him the best fighter in the world have long gone, Silva remains a great defensive striker and has an ability to make his opponent scared to pull the trigger.

That should be crucial against Cannonier – a big puncher who has struggled in the past with smart, technical fighters.

Cannonier beat David Branch by TKO last time out in November, but had lost his previous two fights and three of his last four.

He’ll be looking for one shot to knock out Silva, but the Brazilian has been able to avoid being stopped even at this age and should manage to earn the victory.

JOSE ALDO v ALEX VOLKANOVSKI

Aldo – another Brazilian legend – has rebounded from successive TKO defeats to Max Holloway by stopping Jeremy Stephens and Renato Moicano in his last two fights.

The former featherweight champion looked back to his best in those two wins, and looks the man to back in Saturday night’s intriguing contest.

Volkanovski is an exciting contender on a 16-fight winning streak, and his win over former title challenger Chad Mendes in December 2018 proved he’s ready for this step up.

The Australian put huge pressure on Mendes throughout that fight, but Aldo’s power and array of striking should help to keep him at bay.

Aldo has never lost a non-title fight in the UFC, and he should come through a stiff test with a victory here.
